Shannon N. Gilstrap is a native of Atlanta, GA, and is currently Associate Professor of English at the University of North Georgia. He received his Ph.D. in English Literature from Georgia State University with the dissertation "'A Revolution by Due Course of Law': Matthew Arnold, G.W.F. Hegel, and the State's Revolutionary Role." In addition to maintaining this site, he has been published in Victorian Review (39.1 Spring 2013), Victorians: A Journal of Culture and Literature (March 2012), The Victorian Web, and regularly presents on Matthew Arnold & Victorian literature at regional, national, and international conferences. He is an alumnus of The East-West Center's Asian Studies Development Program, housed at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (2014). In his spare time, he enjoys hiking to waterfalls in north Georgia and spending time with his wife and their two dogs.
